I am a Mississippi Criminal Defense Lawyer located in Flowood, Mississippi, a surburb city bordering Jackson, our state capital. I am in my 41st year of my statewide criminal law practice. I try all sorts of criminal law cases, both felony and misdemeanor, including thousands of DUIs, domestic violence, drug crimes, theft crimes, and assault charges.

I am a former Army Captain having served as a combat soldier Lieutenant in Viet Nam, and also in Germany with a Nuclear Weapons unit. I completed my military service with a Green Beret Special Forces unit and finally a Military Police (MP) Unit.

During that time i began my Police service with The City of Jackson Police Department as a Patrolman, steadily rising through the rank of Sergeant to Lieutenant. I finished my public service in 1979 after finishing law school at The Mississippi College School of Law.

I am one of the founding regents of The National College for DUI Defense serving as Dean in 2001 and now as a Fellow. I am the only lawyer in Mississippi who is Board-Certified as a DUI specialist by the American Bar Association. I am rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell, listed in Super lawyers both in Criminal Defense and DUI defense, and rated a perfect 10 at AVVO.

I am the author of Mississippi DUI Law and Practice, and am now joined by Kevin Stewart and Lance Mixon as co-authors for the past decade. I am also the author of Mississippi Criminal Law and Practice Forms, also now joined by Kevin Stewart and Lance Mixon as co-authors for the past decade. I have been a speaker in this state, across the nation and in four foreign countries.
